As a student in the Introduction to Networking and Cyber Security course, you are going to be exposed to the latest technologies and practices as they pertain to computers, networking equipment, network communications, secure transmission of those communications and the equipment that makes it all happen.  From wireless routers to Virtual Private Networking (VPN), students will receive instruction on many subjects including:

 

· Networking components, architectures and topographies

· IP addressing and sub-netting

· Informational, operational and physical security controls

· Virtual private networks and secure remote access

· Protecting Windows PC’s and Mac OS X systems

· Legal and ethical issues surrounding information security

 

Additionally, each student will learn about different operating systems as well as look at the security of mobile devices like smartphones and tablet computers.  Are you ready for the challenge?
